A wild story about a guy who destroyed lives because of his crazy beliefs

Netflix continues to shed light on the world of cults and religious groups with each passing month, releasing new true crime documentaries surrounding The Doomsday Cult of Antares De La Luz leaders and satanic practices within cults across the globe.

From South Korea’s “In The Name of the Father” to America’s “The Program: Cons, Cults, and Kidnapping” as well as France’s “Raël – The Alien Prophet,” the network has been exposing insane practices that have happened in these cults.

The latest addition to this list is Latin-American self-proclaimed prophet – Ramón Gustavo Castillo Gaete – who led a doomsday-focused religious cult. Born in Chile, Ramón Gustavo Castillo claimed to be Jesus’ second coming and went by the name “Antares de la Luz” (Antares of the Light).

The Netflix documentary highlights the truth behind this cult which performed crazy rituals and practices all aimed at stopping 2012 global doom prophecy.

Testimonies from victims of the cult narrating the chilling details of what Ramón Gustavo Castillo did are central to this doc. A musician by profession, Castillo moved to China in 2006 where he eventually started a religious cult initially known as ‘Calypso’.

We also hear from detectives on the case as well as one former member Alvaro Pereira talk about how Castillo killed his child. After falling pregnant with Castillo’s son in 2012, He planned and executed burning his baby alive

According to this documentary film on Netflix ,the baby was believed by Castillo to be the Antichrist .He knew that it would lead to Armageddon -the alleged doomsday scheduled for December 21st ,2012. Based on this film, Castillo prepared sacrificing an infant by locking up confined him then set ablaze while inside bonfire which occurred on November 23rd 2012.

The film is infuriating to watch as we see clips from the actual legal proceedings after Castillo was arrested. We hear lawyers arguing that all members of cult who took part in this sacrifice were under mind control – completely ignoring fact that innocent child has been burned alive

It’s an informative but enraging watch when detectives try to talk in circles about what could have happened if members didn’t walk free. This documentary focuses on how Castillo manipulated followers and led them into believing he was God’s second coming who deserved worship

‘The The Doomsday Cult of Antares De La Luz’ is a thought-provoking single-viewing experience that makes you question the power of psychosis and mind control. The given sentences for involvement in child’s burning are shocking, which makes one’s blood boil. With Castillo committing suicide before being caught, justice seems never served at end this film leaves audience wondering whether justice ever served.
