Weekend and romantic movies are the best combinations to make the day happen. Here is a list of movies that you can in your watch list for the weekend and enjoy the movie as these movies are filled with emotions that all can relate to.
Carol
2015 / Drama, Melodrama / UK, USA
Both men and women experience heartbreak from Aristocratic Carol, but the latter is particularly affected. Carol isn’t used to depriving herself of anything, then being cold and neglecting her previous devotion. We are given the lyrical and honest history of one such novel, making us fear this dangerous individual—a woman who resembles Cate Blanchett—just as much as she does.
My King
2015 / Melodrama, Drama / France
She is merely a woman seeking typical female happiness. He is a man who is unable to provide this bliss since the demons in his past prevent him from accepting such a fate. This movie explores reconciliations and fresh breaks, joy and suffering that come with loving but unquestionably incompatible partners.
The Danish Girl
2015 / Biopic, Melodrama, Drama / USA, UK
Husband and wife, both artists and thinkers, are married. Despite their utmost affection for one another, they are unable to breathe normally. The husband then reveals that he has always loved dressing up in children’s clothes and that he has fantasies of officially changing his gender in general. Everything that happens as a result of this discovery is the result of two hearts hurting. He has entirely submerged himself in a new character that societal standards forbid him from playing, and she is suffering that she is slowly losing the person who is dearest to her.
Love & Friendship
2016 / Comedy, Drama, Melodrama / Ireland, USA
The books of Jane Austen used to seem to be difficult to adapt for the big screen. Any film adaptations of her writings utterly destroyed their literary originality, which were rich with irony, details, and commentary. Maybe for the first time in a movie, everything is put where it belongs. And a love story, filled with excitement, tragedy at moments, humor, and details. It turns out that it wasn’t as challenging as one could have believed.
Collateral Beauty
2016 / Melodrama, Drama / USA
You would assume from some of the trailers that we are dealing with a farcical comedy. Everything is lot more depressing, though. Although there is a love story in this movie—and not even one—the characters are so consumed with death-related thoughts—those who have lost children suffer especially—that all the humour and romantic undertones unintentionally disappear in the face of such overwhelming sorrow.
